Management Reporting Systems

Software that 1) focuses on information[1] aimed at middle managers; 2) integrates transaction[2] processing data[3] by business function such as sales, finance and human resources and 3) provides reporting of summarized data.

Defined Terms
1. information.

The by-product of having data in an HR System. Data is gathered and reviewed providing information for decision making.

2. transaction.

A process whereby the exchange of information between a local and remote program achieves a result. The result is achieved only when all operations within the transaction are executed successfully.

3. data.

Numbers, characters, or images in a form which can be assessed by a human or (especially) input into a computer, stored and processed.
