Implementation

The structured process[4] of integrating an application[1] into workforce processes. It includes the installation, configuration[2] and data[5] population and testing[6] of an information[3] technology system. Putting in place a collection of components and objects to perform that function they were designed to do.

Defined Terms
1. application.

A set of software programs designed to achieve a specific task.

2. configuration.

The means of setting up an application using administrative tools that are delivered from the vendor without changing the actual software code. The stage of the implementation process when the physical deployment of an item is scrutinized to ensure it complies with system specifications.

3. information.

The by-product of having data in an HR System. Data is gathered and reviewed providing information for decision making.

4. process.

The mechanism through which the data are transformed, manipulated and created into output such as a report, a decision etc. A series of activities that need to be carried out to accomplish some sort of organizational goal. A sequence of events or activities that are triggered by something happening and results in something being achieved.

5. data.

Numbers, characters, or images in a form which can be assessed by a human or (especially) input into a computer, stored and processed.
