Asymmetric Encryption

A cryptographic[1] technique that uses two different keys (public and private) for encryption[2] and decryption, providing secure communication and data[3] exchange.

Defined Terms
1. cryptographic.

Relating to the use of cryptographic techniques, such as encryption and decryption, to secure data and transactions. Cryptographic hashes Unique digital representations of data generated using cryptographic algorithms, commonly used for data integrity verification and security.

2. encryption.

The process of using an algorithm to transform information to make it unreadable for unauthorized users. The process of converting plaintext into ciphertext using cryptographic algorithms to protect data confidentiality and integrity.

3. data.

Numbers, characters, or images in a form which can be assessed by a human or (especially) input into a computer, stored and processed.
