Conversion

The process[2] of moving data[3] from one system to another. Typically this is performed when implementing a new system and the data needs to be moved and translated from the old system values and format to the new system values and format. A program is written to take the data from the old system format and “convert it” it to the new system format in an automated fashion which saves time and improves efficiency of the data migration[1] tasks.
