Mathematical codes or values used in cryptographic[1] algorithms to encrypt or decrypt data[2] and ensure secure communication and transactions.

Defined Terms
1. cryptographic.

Relating to the use of cryptographic techniques, such as encryption and decryption, to secure data and transactions. Cryptographic hashes Unique digital representations of data generated using cryptographic algorithms, commonly used for data integrity verification and security.

2. data.

Numbers, characters, or images in a form which can be assessed by a human or (especially) input into a computer, stored and processed.
