Human Resource Data Platform Standard [HR-DPS]

A draft standard to enable the interchangeability of HR component products[1], using a plug and play[2] operation. It is a blueprint for Human Resource software developers, and a framework[3] for buyers and sellers of software products. It defines component classes and subclasses (according to HR business function and processes), object naming and database[4] structure.

Defined Terms
1. component products.

Self-contained software modules or packages that provide specific functionality and can be integrated or combined to build larger applications or systems.

2. plug and play.

The ability of a component to connect, or plug in, to a socket within a component framework, via a published interface, and to be able to operate immediately without disturbing any other component.

3. framework.

A skeletal structure of components and objects and provides plug-in points and sockets for integration and interchangeability.

4. database.

A set of data. A permanent, self descriptive store of interrelated data items arranged in a logical way that can be accessed by various computer programs.
