Infrastructure

A type of software delivery model that is installed and operated from a customer's in-house server and computing infrastructure. It utilizes an organization’s native computing resources and requires only a licensed or purchased copy of software from an independent software vendor. In the case of on-premise software, the purchaser capitalizes the expenses of the software.

Used to obtain information about a vendor to determine fit for an evaluation. It is designed to collect information about the prospective vendor’s company, capabilities, skills and experience. A document that requests information about a vendor’s product and sets out requirements for a software system and usually contains functional needs, vendor information request, technical and infrastructure requirements, as well as pricing and contract details.

A cloud computing model in which a third-party provider delivers hardware and software tools, usually those needed for application development, to users over the internet. A PaaS provider hosts the hardware and software on its own infrastructure.

An architecture in which a single instance of a software application and supporting infrastructure serves one customer. In a single-tenancy architecture, the tenant purchases their own copy of the software and the software can be customized to meet the specific and needs of that customer.

A type of software delivery model that is deployed and managed on a vendor’s cloud computing infrastructure and accessed by users over the Internet as and when required.
