Single-tenancy

An architecture[2] in which a single instance of a software application[3] and supporting infrastructure[1] serves one customer. In a single-tenancy architecture, the tenant purchases their own copy of the software and the software can be customized to meet the specific and needs of that customer.

Defined Terms
1. infrastructure.

The generic term to include all application software, operating systems, network communications and database management systems with an organization.

2. architecture.

The fundamental design of a system that integrates all the parts into a formal and visible structure.

3. application.

A set of software programs designed to achieve a specific task.
