An acronym for asynchronous Javascript + XML[3], it is not a technology of itself, rather refers to a group of technologies that are used together to develop Web applications. AJAX developed applications are most often found in Web 2.0[1] products. With Ajax, Web applications can retrieve data[2] from the server asynchronously in the background without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page.
