OpenID Connect

An authentication[2] protocol[3] that allows applications to verify the identity of users based on the authentication performed by an OpenID Connect provider[1].

1. OpenID Connect Provider ( OpenID Connect provider )

A service or platform that implements the OpenID Connect protocol for user authentication and identity verification.

2. authentication.

The process of identifying an individual usually based on a username and password. Authentication merely ensures that the individual is who he or she claims to be, but says nothing about the access rights of the individual. The process of verifying the identity of an individual or entity to ensure authorized access and secure transactions.

3. protocol.

A set of rules that dictate how components will communicate with each other to navigate across network boundaries in a component-based system.
