Testing

The processes around making sure that changes to systems are implemented correctly. This includes running programs, entering data and viewing system results.


Thin Client

A thin client is a networked computer with few locally stored programs and a heavy dependence on network resources. Thin clients rely on a network connection to a central server for full computing and don't do much processing on the hardware itself. A thin client is often sufficient enough to connect to the network and access a SaaS/cloud system.


Threat

A condition or situation unfavorable to the project, a negative set of circumstances, a negative set of events, a risk that will have a negative impact on a project objective if it occurs, or a possibility for negative changes. Contrast with opportunity.


Time and Attendance Software

A type of business application designed to track and optimize the hours that employees spend on the job and keep records of wages and salaries paid.


Token Rewards

Incentives in the form of tokens or cryptocurrencies awarded to participants in a network or ecosystem for their contributions or actions.


Token Ring

Local area network (LAN) technology which uses a special frame called a token that travels around the ring to connect with the devices on the network.


Total Cost of Ownership

The total cost of acquiring, installing, using, maintaining, changing, and getting rid of something across and extended period of time (most or all of its useful life).


Transaction

A process whereby the exchange of information between a local and remote program achieves a result. The result is achieved only when all operations within the transaction are executed successfully.


Transaction Processing System

Business applications that focus on processing operational data and whose main functions are 1) operational level data storage and processing 2) efficiency, accuracy and speed.
