Trigger

An action or system status that initiates a set of tasks, usually used in relation to a business event.


Unit Testing

The independent testing of a program or configuration to make sure that it is executing without error.


Upgrade

To replace existing software with a newer version.


Upload

To send or transmit files or data from one computer to another. The opposite would be to download which would be to receive files or data


Usability

The measure of a software application's potential to accomplish the goals of the user. Some factors used in determining product usability are ease-of-use and visual consistency.


Use Case

A UML diagram that models the interaction of external entities (called actors and represented by stick figures) with internal system functions and describes how the entities use the system.


User

Any person who uses the business application whether they input data, view information, create or receive reports.


User Acceptance Testing

A phase of software development in which the software is tested in the "real world" by the intended audience. The users of the system validate and accept changes that were made to the system as representing their requirements.


User Experience

The experienced quality of an interactive system from the perspective of those directly using the system.


Username

A word, phrase, number or combination of characters that uniquely identifies a user on software, a website, a computer or any computing device or related service that requires user authentication.
