Testing that is conducted to verify the system will respond appropriately to the action that is taken. This measures the time for the system to accept the transaction, process the report or bring up a page.

Information that can be used to identify or distinguish an individual, such as name, address, social security number, or email.

The process of identifying and fixing problems early in the system development life cycle so as to avoid costly rework later.

A software migration method that involves incremental implementation of a new system. A phased migration might be conducted either by implementing the entire new system in some locations or business units or by implementing separate modules of the system independently until the implementation is complete.

A phase in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in which a new system is designed with particular focus on how the hardware, software and networking activities will be implemented.

A software migration method that involves rolling out the new system to a small group of users for testing and evaluation. Once the test group has approved the system, it can be rolled out across the organization.

A cloud computing model in which a third-party provider delivers hardware and software tools, usually those needed for application development, to usersover the internet. A PaaS provider hosts the hardware and software on its own infrastructure.

The ability of a component to connect, or plug in, to a socket within a component framework, via a published interface, and to be able to operate immediately without disturbing any other component.

Direct integration between specific systems or applications, enabling data exchange or communication without intermediaries.
