Node-RED

An open-source flow-based programming tool that enables users to connect and orchestrate APIs, devices, and services.


Non-fungible Token

A type of digital asset that represents ownership or proof of authenticity of a unique item or piece of content, often used in art, collectibles, or gaming applications.


N-tier architectures

‘n’ represents the number of tiers in the client-server architecture. These represent the software and hardware configuration in which databases and applications are distributed among many different computers around the world.


OAuth2

An authorization framework that enables secure third-party access to resources or data, often used for granting permissions in web and mobile applications.


Object-Oriented Language

A high-level computer programming language that implements objects and their associated procedures within the programming context to create software programs. Java is an example of object-oriented language.


Object Technology

The production of object-oriented software from re-usable parts and includes all of the tools, languages and processes needed to accomplish the end product.


Offshoring

Relocation of business processes (HR, finance, production/manufacturing) to a location that is not in the same country of the primary place of business and typically to a lower cost location. Offshoring can be seen in the context of either production offshoring or services offshoring.


Onboarding

The process of hiring, orienting and immersing new employees into their roles and into the organization’s culture.


On-Demand Software

A type of software delivery model that is deployed and managed on a vendor’s cloud computing infrastructure and accessed by users over the Internet as and when required.


Online Analytical Processing

A class of tools that can extract and present multidimensional data from different points of view. Designed for managers looking to make sense of their information, OLAP structures data hierarchically -- the way managers think of their enterprises. OLAP functions include trend analysis, drilling down to more complex levels of detail, summarization of data and data rotation for comparative viewing.
